I polled number of people around campus about their feelings about feminism and how it relates to the young generation. Here are some of the quoteworthy responses...

Q: Do you consider yourself a feminist?

A: "Of course! What woman isn't?"

"No. I'm a man."

Q: What do you think of when you hear the word "feminist"?

A: "I think of strong women fighting for equal rights."

"Lesbians."

"Women who don't shave or wear bras."

"Strong women who aren't willing to put up with any more crap."

Q: Do you think that women have equal rights in today's society?

A: "Yes, I do."

"Not really. We still earn less than men for the same jobs, and there are very few women in upper management positions."

"Well, they are better off than they were a few decades ago, but I'm not sure if they're exactly equal yet."

These answers demonstrate the variety of opinions floating around about feminism in the young generation. However, most women and men asked said that they considered themselves to be feminists, and most responded no when asked if women had achieved equal status in society.
